Lord, you know we are in a battle against a brutal but invisible enemy.
Our heroes are those who are taking the risks on our behalf to save the wounded and protect the rest of us from becoming casualties.
But they are not just doctors, nurses and hospital workers, Lord. They are wives and husbands, moms and dads, sons and daughters. There are people they love and people who love them.
So we pray, Lord, that You will guard those who are guarding and fighting for us - and all those they love. May they be able to battle this enemy without being wounded themselves. Not only in their body, but in their mind, their spirit, their soul.
Hold them close. Give them supernatural strength for this relentless battle. Give them peace that is greater than the pressure, protection greater than the peril, love that is greater than the load they bear. You have said in Your Word, "Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, 'He is my refuge and my fortress, my God in whom I trust.' Surely He will save you from the deadly pestilence."
We claim those promises for our COVID warriors, Lord!
Where they have been wounded in body, mind or spirit, please plant Your comfort, Your healing and Your encouragement deep in their hearts.
May they feel Your powerful presence and Your deep love for them as they give so unselfishly of themselves. And may You bless them as they bless each one they care for.
You understand their sacrifice - You loved us even when it meant sacrificing Your life for us so we could be with You forever. May that love sustain our heroes through every battle, every loss, every dark moment.
We declare, as You have said in Your Word, "the battle is the Lord's."
We pray for this, as You taught us, in Jesus' Name.
Amen.
Thank you for making a difference on the frontlines.
