I'm Brad Hutchcraft and the Muppet Christmas Carol is a must-watch every year for me. The way that Michael Caine portrays Scrooge is powerful. He paints the picture of a man who has lost so much, is searching for joy, and finds redemption.
It's powerful because it reflects real life. I see it on the faces of people all around me - the hurt that comes from bad medical news, financial hardships, the loss of a loved one. We're left searching for hope. For joy.
But that's where the Good News comes in. Jesus came to earth to provide real hope, joy and redemption.
In John 10:10, Jesus says that He has come that we may have abundant life. How do you experience that for yourself? You acknowledge that you've run your life your way, which God calls sin. You believe in your heart that Jesus died on the cross to pay the penalty for those sins, rising again three days later. And you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord.
