At Christmas, we usually see sheep in live manger scenes.
Throughout the centuries, sheep like them were regularly sacrificed for the sin of God's people. Spotless lambs.
So, on that night when the angels filled the sky and a baby's cry was heard next to sheep in a manger - the Lamb of God had entered the world.
The baby whose mission was to die. Unlike the sheep of old, this Lamb would be the perfect and final sacrifice for the sin of the world.
All my sin and selfish choices on Jesus. "Once for all."
The Lamb of God paid our death penalty for sin, so we can have a relationship with God!
