You know that "X number of shopping days til Christmas" thing they do? Seems like they started that in September this year!
It's not just gifts and clothes and toys we shop for. We're spiritual shoppers, too. Shopping for why I'm here or what happens when I die? And ultimately, what will satisfy my searching heart?
For a bunch of shepherds that first Christmas, the shopping ended when those angel visitors announced, "Today... a Savior has been born to you" (Luke 2:11). What hopeful words - "today a Savior... for you."
I wonder if today might be that day for you. God wants you to know how very much He loves you. Enough to send His Son to do the dying for the sinning you've done. And He's alive - death couldn't keep Him in the grave. And today He wants you to know this Savior was born for you. And your lifetime of shopping can end at the feet of Jesus.
