It's the great Christmas wish, from an active military, to a gazillion grandparents, to college students like my three granddaughters: "home." There's a reason the song is a classic, "I'll Be Home for Christmas."
But this homing instinct goes far deeper than Christmas wishes. It's a deep cry of the human heart to find lasting love and belonging and safety. Our heart's home is spelled out in the Bible. It says, "we are created by God and for God" (Colossians 1:16). A love relationship with the God who made us.
We're lonely and restless because we're away from Him because of our sin.
Jesus' life began in a crude cradle and it ended on a cruel cross where He paid our sin penalty with His life. And then He rose from the dead to bring us home to God.
Your ticket home is simply pinning all your hopes on Him and we would love to tell you how to do that. Would you contact us at 888-NEED-HIM or ChatAboutJesus.com? And finally you can really be home for Christmas.
