You may have seen this funny holiday movie called Fred Claus. Fred is Santa's brother, and compared to Santa, Fred never really measures up. And Christmas is not a time of joy for him, but rather a time when he's reminded more than ever of his shortcomings.
Maybe for you the holiday season is a hard one. The celebrating only reminds you of how little you feel there is to celebrate. Did you know that the creator of all things became one of us so He could relate to us better? His book says He understands our weaknesses, for He faced all of the same testings we do, yet He did not sin.
That last part is important. Because Jesus didn't sin, He was an acceptable sacrifice for our sin. We have all sinned, and if we're not forgiven the Bible says that we'll be separated from Him for eternity.
Thank God that His book also says that when we were God's enemies we were reconciled to Him through the death of His son, Jesus.
