Remember "Happy New Year!" Whatever happened to that? Well, COVID and quarantine and justice battles, and political battles and lockdowns. No one's gone untouched! If we ever needed peace, it's now. If we ever needed the Christmas promise it's now.
That first Christmas the angels sang, "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to those on whom His favor rests." Where is that peace? Well, here's what the angel said before that promise, "A Savior has been born to you who will (an angel told Joseph) save His people from their sins." So, where's that peace? It's in the hearts of those who've made the Savior their Savior.
See, we've pushed God aside to run our own lives. And away from our Creator, there's no peace until we open our heart to Jesus, who died on the cross to save us from our sin. And peace begins when Jesus comes in. It's that unmovable anchor in times like ours.
