Everywhere I go in our town, there are lights! Just like Snoopy's doghouse, there are Christmas lights all over everything - houses, and stores, and yards, and water towers, and public buildings. Lots of places that would usually be pretty dark are suddenly all lit up.
And that's how Christmas ought to be. Because the lights came on in this world the day Jesus was born. The Bible says of His coming, "Light has come into the world" (John 3:19). The Bible tells my story - and the story of countless others - when it says, "The people living in darkness have seen a great light" (Matthew 4:16). When Jesus enters a life, places that were always dark are suddenly all lit up.
You can finally see your reason for living...and the sin that's kept you from it - and that will one day keep you from heaven. It got strangely dark the day Jesus died for us - because He was absorbing all the darkness of all our sin. And today He's ready to enter your darkness and light up the rest of your life.
