Our family was returning from our Christmas party when a drunk driver hit us head-on. Our car was totaled and some of us had a slightly uncomfortable Christmas. It's always hard to get hit; it's just a little tougher when you get hit at Christmas.

And maybe you have been. In fact, the joy of the Christmas season may actually accentuate some of the hits you've taken: the broken or hurting relationships, the loneliness, the loss, the stress, the uncertain future.

Well, here's a wonderful invitation from Jesus Christ. "Come to me all you who are weary and carry heavy burdens and I will give you rest." Sometimes it's the hard hits that finally make us look Jesus' direction, and we find the open arms of the one who took all the guilt, and hurt, and hell of our sin when He died on the cross. So let your hurt bring you, not to despair, but to Jesus and His peace.
