Discipling the On Eagles' Wings Team
The last night of Warrior Leadership Summit we introduced what seemed to be one of the strongest teams we have had. We sensed that God was going to do something very special in and through them.
During our first days with the On Eagles' Wings team, we have had tremendous opportunities to equip and disciple these young leaders God has entrusted to us! They truly are the future of On Eagles' Wings!
We have had rich days that have opened deep places in their hearts, plus bonded and thoroughly prepared them for this special 30th anniversary summer of outreach.
With the Leadership Center launching this fall, this has been a divine "ramp" for that launch.
Some thoughts expressed by the warriors themselves -
Greg (Cherokee) prayed: "Thank You, Lord, for this time as a team. I've really needed it to remember who I am."
Marisa (Apache) told us she came wounded and struggling from recent battles: "These days I've been able to just spend time with God, be quiet and recharge, and get to where I need to be."
These dear warriors are growing and deepening in their walk with Christ!
Public and One-on-One Evangelism in Communities
Rescue is happening as direct evangelism begins in communities!
After equipping and discipling the team, they have been so motivated and excited to move out into local reservation communities. These are areas where local hosts have longed for and prayed for the On Eagles' Wings team to come share the Gospel and the hope of Jesus.
Here are some quotes from OEW team members from the frontlines of outreach:
Ariel: "As I was sharing with a local lady who follows their Native religion, the OEW Gospel wrap-up began. The lady couldn't stand to hear talk about Jesus! She immediately turned on her Native music to drown out the Gospel. But I was able to share the whole Gospel with them. Her story is a lot like my own story. Many answered prayers!"
Ella: "I talked with a girl who said, 'My family practices our centuries-old beliefs, but it isn't working for me.' She was ready to hear about something that 'works.'"
The Difference You Can Make
We deeply appreciate your prayer right now! In the words of John Wesley, would you please "storm the Throne of Grace" for these requests:
- That there will be no illness on the team.
- That all equipment will work well - especially generators, etc.
- That God will protect both our team and the people of the communities they go to reach.
- That there will be an accelerated and powerful work on the reservations we can go to - with a sweeping move of the Holy Spirit in a short time.
- That all of God's purposes for calling these warriors to serve this summer will be fulfilled.
- That we, as leaders, will have uncommon wisdom and Spirit-sensitivity to meet each moment.
We are so encouraged by the prayer that covers us during all the On Eagles' Wings ministry!
We are thankful for these opportunities to share the Gospel, and awaken each new morning to follow Him wherever He is leading.
