In a word . . .
“By My Spirit” Zechariah 4:6
God can do amazing things with and through people who listen for His Spirit-promptings – and obey them.
“Spiritaneity” – Zechariah 4:6
Spirit promptings…
Can come with sacrifice, with risk.
Can interrupt what we are currently doing.
Philip – (Acts 8:26-40) a divine interruption.
Can come without explanation.
Acts 8:26 & 29 – An unexplained “Go!”
Can come with perceived risk.
Ananias (Acts 9:10-19)
We can miss those ‘Spiritaneity’ moments:
Failing to consult heaven
1 Chron. 10:13-14; 1 Chron. 15:13; Joshua 9:14
Focusing on being…
The planner. The controller. The runner.
When we become…
The discouraged. The distracted. The defeated.
Common factor in all of these things = Broken Plans.
What can God do with broken plans? Paul holds the answer! Acts 16:6-10
God uses broken plans to accomplish His bigger plans.
The Holy Spirit changes the equation.
Acts 15:1-31
The Spirit gives: Direction. Conviction. Wisdom. Power. The right words.
The result? Peace. Comfort. Encouragement.
The listening life is essential as a follower of Christ. Listen James 1:19
