In a time of so many losses, there’s one thing almost everyone lost through all the recent “storms” — certainty.

A CHADASH MOMENT

It is God’s “m. o.” to shake us to awaken us – to pave the way for the bold new thing He is planning to do.

Joseph . . . Esther . . . the Israelites at Ai . . . Saul of Tarsus . . . Jerusalem believers. It is God’s recurring way with the founders of our faith. The disciples The believers in Acts Before we can discover God’s new thing, He has to shake us loose from the old thing. The setting for God revealing His new thing – in the wilderness and the desert. Isaiah 43:19

Disruption is the catalyst for deepening and discovery. What are some of our “former things” and “past” things that we need to graduate from? Old victories Old failures Old fears Old m. o.’s Old idols Old “go-to’s” LABOR PAINS AND NEW LIFE John 16:20-24

The greater purposes of God are often served by the disruption of our comfort and status quo. Proverbs 16:9 19:21 Two classic examples of God’s “shaken to awaken” work in our lives: II Chronicles 7:14 . . . 13 Labor pains “No rain” . . . “locusts” (a crippled economy) . . . “pestilence” (a widespread health crisis)

Birthing new life — 5 life-giving steps “My people called by My Name” — Remember who you are. “Humble themselves” — Get over yourself. “And pray.” Stop depending on you. “And seek My face.” Pursue God’s heart. “And turn from their wicked way.” Take out the trash. Would we do any of this if it weren’t for the pain? God’s new thing? Prayers answered! Blessing-blockers gone. Brokenness healed. Haggai 1:3-4; 7-12, 14

GETTING USED TO DIFFERENT Deuteronomy 1:6a, 8a, 21 Jesus is a disrupter.

Deuteronomy 32:10-12 He is always breaking new ground. So following Him demands a spirit that is flexible and nimble. Rigid will not work.
