Aliens and Answers

Brad:
All right everyone, today on Go Mad we are going to be talking about aliens and answers. If you've seen anything in the news the past couple weeks, you've probably seen news about UFOs or UAPs or even some strange pictures being posted online about this whole thing. But guess what?

What? We're gonna dive in today, no matter if you believe there's something more out there or you're a skeptic, whatever your views are, today's episode is for you, including if you're an ambassador. Who is saying, How do I respond to all of this?

We're going to look at some things like, what does the Bible have to say about this? How should we be looking for the more that we're made for? We're going to dive in and you're gonna find out why there's an alien in the studio with us.

People are like, what is that's the X Files. Well, as you heard in the uh right before we kick things off, today we're talking about aliens and answers. And whether you or someone I gotta stop.

Doug:
Hold on. What happened? Hold on Especially for people who are tuning in through YouTube.

Okay. We all have a question. You know the whole elephant in the room thing?

Yeah. Why is there an alien in the room? And why is he Oh just look to your right.

Brad:
Oh, my friend back there

Doug:
Yeah. What does does he have a name?

Brad:
Uh you can't pronounce it. It's uh Yeah. So okay.

So I did bring in we're talking about aliens and answers and no matter where you're at, uh if you are someone that you Uh whatever your view is on aliens or anything else, hang with us today. Gonna be a good half hour together. Uh it's gonna go fast.

But I will tell you, this right here, um I we saw it, we were at a Dave and Buster's. I was there with my family. Where did we see it? Well, have you ever seen a human crane game?

I don't know if you have, Doug. Have you seen one of these? I have.

So I'm only more confused. There is there's these inflatable aliens and other things that are there and I'm like And so we start talking like, dad, you need to do the crane game. And basically, if you've ever seen me, I'm a man of great stature.

Not the human one. Uh the I mean there is a crane game.

Doug:
I've heard you describe it as a man of significant character.

Brad:
I mean that's another phrase. Uh th so we uh there's this crane where basically you have this thing you lay down in. You just lay down and your your the top part of your torso and your legs are sticking out.

Doug:
You lay down in it?

Brad:
No, I'm not kidding. I've seen like the No I have a I have video evidence. I won't show it right now because no one have to people wouldn't see it.

But it is you lay down in it and they just hover you down. Now I'm telling you, I go I I knew I wanted to get an alien and I knew it would take about four seconds to get it. They lower you down, you grab it, you're done.

What I did not expect, and yes, my uh family, the rest of my family made sure that my daughter, who's at college at this time, was on FaceTime for this. So she she's watching this. I get lowered down into this pit.

Who knows what children have been down there with what germs and who has rubbed snot on what? I get lowered down and they leave me in there for probably it felt like three hours. I don't know.

It was probably four seconds. But the mozzarella is things in here. See you later, Dad.

We're giving time For you to grab whatever it is. And literally, I had it in a second. And so the there's video evidence of me coming out with this alien.

Somehow my back survived. Dave and Buster survived. There were several terrified children around, but I got it done.

So I brought it in today because I thought it was a good fit for today. Were you calling him Wilson by the time you came back?

Doug:
Well sorry. And that's pretty funny. And you're certain you didn't dream You know, it's possible, it's possible, but like Brad said, yeah, we're talking about aliens today.

Look If i everyone listening's got a different thing on this, you might go, why are you even talking about this? It's so stupid. And other someone else is going, don't call it stupid.

This is what I'm saying. Hey, just uh just hang with us. We're gonna have fun.

We're gonna really get into the ambassador response to this is huge Right now this is huge in the news, this is huge in the culture, it's all over the place. I guess I'm like everybody else. I'm very skeptical of the whole alien thing.

The other day I'm out and about minding my own business. Till I see E. T. working the checkout at Starbucks. Wow.

Wow. Did he remember it in 1982 movie? Oh no, I remember.

He may be an interplanetary phenomenon. He still got my order wrong. Light foam, E. T. Light foam, not phone home.

Oh see, well there that's the problem. And if you haven't seen the movie, you're even more confused right now. Brad's laying down with aliens with children's smots everywhere.

Brad:
Doug is if you're still listening at this point, we're I I w Why I the reason why we're talking about this. As Doug said. There's an ambassador response to this and we are we're that's where we'll wind up.

There was a massive file dump basically of all these videos of unexplained aircraft, everything else. And I don't I don't usually go down the rabbit hole on things. I'm just like, okay, well But I'm gonna check a couple of these videos.

Doug:
It's huge and there's some legit names out there saying that.

Brad:
Well, and if you watch them, I was left saying I'm still going out.

Doug:
Yeah. I don't know. It's become too much if you're just gonna go, well, it's just It's just uh uh Jimmy in the the field in Iowa making up things. It has become much bigger than that. And there's just too many legit Uh military people uh saying things and if you watch him you're like, this is what in the world is going on because it used to be fringe because uh we've had a from fringe to the mainstream kind of

Brad:
It it really is. It it that's where it's moved from. And so we have movies w that have always shown a fascination.

Forever. And When I started looking at the top grossing ones, obviously you have some that are like, okay, well the alien franchise is about aliens. But it's not just about aliens because it's about the search for what else is out there, this fascination The Avatar series, Star Wars.

Star Wars, yeah. Men in Black, the fun side of it, E. T. you mentioned Interstellar, all these huge movies. There's there's this fascination that we have uh and If you look up the numbers, billions and billions and billions of dollars have been spent on those movies.

It makes sense.

Doug:
The movies, um again, we're talking about why why such a fascination. Look, Ecclesiastes 3 11, this isn't a big surprise that people are looking for something bigger than themselves. Uh Ecclesiastes three says that um God has planted eternity in the hearts of humanity.

In other words, we're like born hardwired to look for something bigger than us. So we We have this desire for there to be more, so as soon as there's even a morsel of a wait, there could be some and I can see this with my eyes. Yeah.

I can see this with my eyes. Um, it's all over the internet and this is I don't know if you have friends that um You know, let's just say use the internet to uh share their stories that aren't super believable. My alien's name was Mark.

Brad:
Mark. He drove a Nova. Well and I I I think that w that word you use there.

is kind of an underlying uh thought for our conversation today, the the more. That we're seeking this more and And there is this now we see these visible things that lead to that thought of of more. And so I think that we need to look let's dive in.

Let's look at so why what is the the Parts of this that we need to look at that say, okay, why is this there? What else are there? Because that Ecclesiastes verse is fantastic

Doug:
Yeah, um and let's let's say this one more time here. You're not gonna hear us getting dogmatic about we we even in our in our discussions we we we have a a pre uh recording a a pre-episode meeting, a production meeting. Right now people are shocked by that.

I know. They're like, you slammed this And it comes out like that. Uh but we but we found it interesting it's just such an i i is it such a strange thing thing we found even among ourselves like that you're like oh really you heard that way so we're not gonna be dogmatic here a lot of what we're doing today Uh we know we can't know for sure.

A lot of us we know there's differences of opinion. What we're what we're talking about today are ideas that are being floated. It doesn't necessarily mean that we all believe I feel like we need I feel like we need one of those um You know, on before one of those talk shows like not everybody listening to this podcast, but it's all the same things.

Brad:
Let's talk about a few things this could be. Well I mean for starters people would say, well, what do you mean what is it? It's aliens.

Doug:
It's uh it's that it it's that uh simple life out there um

Brad:
For it to just be us. That's one of the things that we're doing.

Doug:
Yeah. Our government is spending billions and billions of dollars to see if there's even like water or an ounce of life on Mars. There's a few things, you know, you'll hear people say, look, this is just distraction.

Um if the enemy can't destroy you, right, he'll distract you. And distraction might be his favorite weapon. That's that's what this could be.

Um I I remember dad saying once, you know, the enemy doesn't care what it is that that gets your attention. He said He said, there might I he said I could even see a uh a sign on the the the door to hell saying anything but Jesus. Remember Martha?

Being distracted in the Bible by Jesus' presence. He's right there in front of her. And she's just focused on something else.

And Jesus is like, hey. Hey, over here, I'm here. And he he's here.

He lives, he's in our presence. Now on Psalm 119, David prayed. turn my eyes away from worthless things.

He was he was concerned about distractions and by the way he knew a little something about letting distractions take you away from God's focus. Um but even and even if you don't believe it, but maybe you spend endless hours reading all the discussions and watching the documentaries instead of, you know, doing things that can uh make a bigger difference.

Brad:
Well I think that That's really one of the keys, Doug, is that as ambassadors or even if you're someone that is uh right now you're listening, you're like, I don't know what I think about Jesus, what I think about God, I don't I uh yeah, I do think there's probably something out there, whatever else. The the point is that the what we need to not let that be is a distraction. Whatever you your viewpoint is on this.

Don't let it distract you from what the Bible really says because w uh again, we don't know who all's gonna be listening to this episode. We want you to know that yes, we believe Because of all the proofs, all the evidences, all the confirmations that the Bible is the Word of God, that it is our guidebook for life. And it starts Genesis 1:1.

Starts with the very nature of things that in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. So in the very first verse of the Bible, right there, God answers a lot of questions. Because He created everything.

So whether it is something here on earth or if it's the space he created, the the the heavens that he created. He created it. He knows his creation intimately.

He doesn't want us to get distracted by these different issues. He wants us to stay focused.

Doug:
And by the way, God does create supernatural beings They're all throughout that Bible. Um uh angels uh which who who apparently when people see 'em are pretty freaked out. They're pretty They're pretty powerful, they're huge.

One of the angels that he he created, according to God's word, is is a Lucifer, is the devil, the enemy. And according to 2 Thessalonians 7, he's called the prince of the power of the air. In Ephesians 6, it says, we don't wrestle against flesh and blood.

But against the rulers, the authorities, against the cosmic powers, get this, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms So interestingly enough, and again, this doesn't you know we we all you believe different things, but it's interesting to me that for a time, not forever, the Lord has given Satan some dominion over the world here. And specifically in these two verses mention the heavens, the air. He's very active in the heavens, which is, by the way, exactly where just about all the alien I'm putting using quotation marks, evidence has been seen

Brad:
Yeah, and I think that as we like we said, we'll get to the some very specifics on ambassador response, but I think Uh this part of what we're talking about is so key because it's foundational for people to understand, uh especially those who do love Jesus and want to make a difference for him. that this isn't just a an issue that nowadays that you can just dismiss and move on. You need to be able to talk about it and even knowing how things are going.

So Um I i if I can share for a second, Doug, just a a friend of this shared shared this and uh a friend of ours shared this and I was I was just curious because what you were just saying as far as the cosmic side of things God created an expansive heavens. We'll never reach the end of it. I love the whole telescopes and the ships going out, space craft, and they're just like We got a new picture.

And it's like, yeah.

Doug:
Trillions of galaxies out there. We haven't even gotten to the end of ours. And we got a picture.

Brad:
And I love seeing those come back because it shows the vastness of what we don't know.

Doug:
The enormity of God.

Brad:
Yeah. But you did mention there are these i if you listen to the conversations, this is kind of what a a friend pointed out. And again, this is just a view that's out there. So just Take it w as you would, folks, as you're listening to this. But they mentioned that they noticed in the reporting about these new videos that have come out. That across the news outlets the shifted kind of from this aliens or whatever else to interdimensional beings

Doug:
Oh that sounds much more uh legit in Smarty Pants.

Brad:
Where people are like, well the Bible doesn't write about aliens Right, but if all of a sudden we're changing the conversation to interdimensional beings, these these these cosmic forces, the spiritual forces that are out there Uh what I what it seems like could be one of the things they're trying to do with that is when you say interdimensional beings, it sounds like you said smart sound scientific, yet at the same time also sound spiritual. But it avoids religion and most importantly, it avoids scripture and the creator. It allows us to have this ethereal conversation that has a lot of kind of good sounding words to it, but it distracts from what God does say in the Bible because that's what we have.

We have the word of God. Jesse. Are we insane?

That's the question you tossed to Jesse.

Doug:
Can I ask a question to the question for the context? He was fantastic. What what's going on? What's going on? What do you think is happening here?

Jesse:
Oh you tell me. I uh the the thing I I've I've come to is that no matter what is actually going on, um I think I'm gonna be okay. And and here's why.

Any I can play this out any any different way, um, from a hoax to uh spiritual beings to you know real aliens and I don't think my trust in Jesus changes. I don't think my understanding of scripture changes. Um it's interesting and there may be real repercussions for our lives, but as far as I can tell, nothing changes about what I believe.

Oh, that's good.

Brad:
And I think that's true.

Jesse:
I and I I think

Doug:
Yeah, nothing can separate us from uh from the love that is in Christ Jesus.

Brad:
I think that people uh and again just that goes to the I think the only damage it does is if it distracts us from our relationship with the Lord. It doesn't uh the only way i that there's damage to it if is is if we let this distraction take root. And I do think I I this is it's not in my notes, is that okay?

Uh the um I I I Are you sure you want to say this? Uh no. Uh yes. Um I think that one of the things that you see represented In a lot of the movies about whether it's alien invasion or going out into space or whatever, you see that there's always characters represented.

who are hurting, who are unsure where they fit in. That's true. They are and there's always a key character there that is drawn to those to that phenomenon first.

And I think it's because there is a lack of knowing how we fit in sometimes in the when when you've been hurt When you face brokenness, when you have felt abandoned, when you feel alone, when you feel like even not all even all those negatives, but just your personality is so unique and you haven't found that group of friends that you connect with. You it goes back to that more. You're wanting to search for more where whereas God wants us to say, look and say But he created us.

We are knit together, as Psalm says, we are knit together in our mothers when we are fearfully and wonderfully made. In uh the New Testament where it says uh the um that we are God's masterpiece. We are his workmanship created in Christ Jesus.

I get it. If someone is saying, I'm hurt and there's gotta be more. I agree.

Right. I absolutely agree that there has to be more and there is. So don't let the distraction keep you from discovering who Jesus says you are.

That's just something that I wanted to say because some of those people come to mind right now for me. That's you know it's funny.

Doug:
That's true. Um, I hadn't thought of that. I I tend to watch a lot of those alien movies.

Um I'm interested in science fiction, just I'm especially interested in what what the culture is absorbing and and checking out. And um that's true that a lot of the times the person that is contacted so you got two kinds of aliens in these movies. They're like either evil and trying to destroy the world, or they're very sweet and kind and offer you Reese's pieces.

Here I am with E. T. Okay. I'm obsessed with E. T, but it's important to remember so yes, so you here you have uh A lonely person, or not even necessarily lonely, just someone who's looking for purpose. It's important to remember that the enemy in uh the Bible says he can appear as an angel of light As it uh since we're talking about distraction and anything but Jesus.

So there's numerous times in scripture the enemy has represented himself as something other than who he really is. Um so angels which he and demons are appear in forms that are not naturally their nat that are not their natural one. He he appears as different animals, as a serpent.

Um, and it would be very easy for him to appear as this alien stuff. And and the thing about aliens, this is I just thought of this too You can kind of ascribe to them what you want them to be without having to so maybe they're this gregarious loving thing that made there's that's one of the things out there that they Uh, you know, I just thought of this. Um uh Richard Dawkins, okay, one of the most famous a atheists of all time someone was really pressing him on on okay, you're saying that there's not a God.

Where did all this come from? You know, it was the guy I I'm telling you, it was the guy who uh from uh Fer uh from Ferris Bueller's day off that goes Bueller. Yes, yeah.

Ben Stein is pressing it. And he's like, Okay, so you're saying that it came from this. Where did that come from?

Okay, you're saying it came from primordial ooze. Fine. Where did that come from?

Richard Dawkins is cornered and he goes, maybe aliens. That was hit the greatest atheist mind or considered the greatest atheist mind of all time is going Aliens made all this. That's the thing about that's the thing about the the alien thing is it gives me an opportunity as someone who's searching spiritually to connect to something that isn't asking for my devotion, my uh or handing the steering wheel of my life of making the God who made you the Lord of your life.

It d it's not asking for that. It's it you can ascribe to it whatever you want it to be.

Brad:
We don't have to when I hear that we don't have to wrestle with the uncomfortable questions at that point. Ooh. When we uh reach the end of ourselves, if you can put it on some interdimensional being or supernatural being, however you want to say that All of a sudden, you have an answer.

You have had an answer even if it doesn't, even if you can't explain the answer. And just file it away. Yeah, so you don't have to do that.

It's a that I think this is why uh something you said before, Doug, just w triggered that first John four one. It's why we're encouraged, dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God. And I think one of the keys with that is don't stop asking the hard questions.

Don't stop asking what's important because When you look at this distraction, it can be from the eternal, Acts 16. 31, believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved. John 14, 6, Jesus says, I am the way, the truth, and the life.

As long as the devil can keep us distracted, I put, as long as he can keep us distracted and damned. I don't use that phrase that often, but that is the way. If he can keep us that way, then he has won because we stop seeking the only one, only relationship that answers the questions.

Doug:
Do you ever think that the enemy just sometimes throws stuff against the wall and goes, Let me see how how the world I he he is an expert in human nature. You ever think he just goes, Let me see how they respond to this particular thing or this particular distraction? Because if he does and he sees our massive interest in the alien thing, I heard someone say the other day He said, he said, what if what if the enemy is kind of playing the long game here?

Um Area 51 and Independence Day. And I I don't know if I believe this, but it's something that's out there to now You know, kinda Independence Day and E. T. and stuff there I am again. With E. T. , I'm so sorry.

Brad:
But um Whereas I'm wearing the shirt with the pizza planet. It's you gotta turn it on it.

Doug:
Get to YouTube so you can see the alien weirdness going on here. But but this this um you know, kind of starting with goofy stuff and and even the t-shirts, yes, and Um and now really legitimate people seeing they have seen alien ships. Look, again, distraction.

The enemy knows how to seduce. And w i the way you seduce is it's you don't immediately right off the bat go Um, there's alien life and who created everything, but it's uh it can it can just it can take time to seduce. So our culture's believing more and more Get this.

I thought of this the other day. Our culture is believing more and more completely ludicrous things. Okay?

Things that that remember, you know Calling evil things good and good things evil. Things that make no sense biologically or scientifically Is being embraced. How did we get to this point?

Well, gradually. You know, you couldn't have said these things in the fifties without being laughed at, but it's the drip trip. It's the drip drip.

So again, um distraction, deception, and again, it doesn't have to be aliens. It it just whatever will distract you, whatever will k if it's a relationship that you shouldn't be in. Um if it's an addiction, whatever will keep you from the one that loves you and the one that can heal you and the one that can give you eternal life and joy in this life and the next.

He'll do whatever he can to keep you Brad uh to keep you away from Jesus. And and Brad mentioned this earlier. You might be listening to this And not uh not know Jesus.

Um well we're not here to make fun of stuff that people believe, but we are here to say. That there is one Savior, there's one God who created you and calls you, as Brad mentioned, calls you his masterpiece. He created you to have a relationship with him.

The Bible says that that God created all things. And um and it also says though that our sin separates us, just running our life. Well, we were talking about the steering wheel, steering wheel earlier, not wanting to give the the control of our life to someone else, that's just sin.

I want to run my life my way, and the Bible says that sin separates us from God. That's a lot of bad news. The good news is that the Bible also says that Christ died once for all, the righteous being him, for the unrighteous being us.

Here it is to bring you to God. And here's the thing. No alien, no man-made religion um no relationship can bring you to to the Father God who loves you and wants to have a relationship with you.

Only the Son of God can do that by his sacrifice on the cross that he was making. Um I've heard dad put it, or dad who really who loves the Lord and and spent his life sharing about him. I heard him say once, the thing about the cross is You look at it, you see the Son of God on it, and you say two words.

For me. That was for me. So whatever it is that might be distracting you or keeping you from him, um we just wanted to take a moment here.

And we don't always do this, but um share how you can be his once and for all.

Brad:
It's uh all of that, um take that to heart and know that the Bible says that if you confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that Jesus is Lord and that God raised him from the dead, that you will be saved. And so have a conversation with Jesus and allow uh Romans 120 Says that for since the creation of the world, God's invisible qualities, his eternal power and divine nature have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse. So tonight When you hear this tonight when you go out, take a minute, go out and look up at the stars and don't think just don't spend the time thinking about what else is out there.

Think about the God who made the universe cared enough to send his son for me because Psalm 19 says the heavens declare his glory. Realize that those heavens are his glory being declared and he wants this God of the universe wants a relationship with you. Thank you, Doug, for taking us there.

And I would say Uh pretty much if you've been if you're listening like well what is the ambassador response up pretty quick because here's what I wrote down. It goes along with what Doug was just sharing. Don't mock it.

So as an ambassador, as a believer. You see it and you don't believe in this stuff. Don't mock it and these especially apply to social media rules, but uh in a conversation with someone don't mock it Also, don't get distracted by talking about it for too long, other than to do use it as a launch pad to point people to Jesus.

And the reason I bring this up now That's what you just did, Doug, because that is what this is. It is saying, I realize that people are searching, they're looking for answers, they're looking for the more they were made for. As an ambassador of Christ, you hold the answer to what that more is.

If you mock someone You will uh push them away, not draw them closer. Use it as a chance to say, I understand that feeling. I get that feeling of wanting something more.

Let me tell you about where I found the more.

Doug:
I can't think of a better way to wrap up our discussion about aliens and what else is out there. How about who else is out there who made it all?

Brad:
Amen. So there you go. We talked about some aliens and we talked about some answers.

And E. T. way too much. And E. T. way too much. So for and I will I will remove my uh friend.
