It's taken its toll hasn't it, that social distancing thing? The isolation and the missing hugs, and the loneliness. No, it's Christmas. But in our world we've had our distancing problem our whole lives, and it's why that nagging sense in our soul that someone's missing, because someone is. The God who made us! We really need Him, but we're away from Him.
The Bible says "Your sins have separated you from your God." And that distance between us and God is widely incurable loneliness and emptiness. But God did something about our broken relationship. It's called Christmas! That baby in the manger is God's Son. The Bible says, "He loved us" - or put you in there, He loved you - "and sent His Son as a sacrifice to take away your sins."
