Christmas is like sunrise! When I read that in the Bible, I said, "All right!" Because I love to see the night slowly but surely give way to that rising sun.
In a prophecy of the first Christmas, God even calls Jesus "the rising sun." "The rising sun will come to us from heaven to shine on those living in darkness and in the shadow of death" (Luke 1:78, 79).
I've seen Jesus do that in so many lives - including mine. Light up our darkness. The love He poured out when He died on the cross for all our wrongdoing, the power that brought Him back from the dead - that's been the light of a million personal sunrises. Replacing dirty with clean, failure with forgiveness, hopelessness with hope, the dark me with a new me.
And the darkness of death with the light of heaven for sure.
