Maybe you haven't been shown much unconditional love. Maybe there is someone who should have been there for you in your life, but wasn't.

Maybe there is someone who has betrayed you or who's abandoned you. There is someone who has paid an extravagant price for you. He is the One who made you and holds your eternity in His hands. He loves you very, very much. Just look at the price he paid for you.

The Word of God in 1 Corinthians 6:20 says, "You were bought with a price." Those are pretty startling words. The thing that was purchased for a very high price was you. The book of Revelation pulls the curtain of heaven and it lets us see Jesus there being worshipped by billions of angels and people who have died and gone there. Part of what they sing about is something that seems to amaze everyone in heaven. It says in Revelation 5:9, "With your blood you purchased men for God." So this price you were bought with was the lifeblood of Jesus, God's one and only Son.

You can tell how much God loves you; He spent everything He had on you! No one has ever loved you like this. Why did the price have to be the shed blood of God's Son? The Bible reveals the answer in these words, "Without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness." ( Hebrews 9:22) Forgiveness means erasing our sins from God's Book. The penalty is clear - it is death. Your sin can only be paid for by someone dying.

If you've ever wondered if God really loves you, here is His overwhelming yes. He sacrificed His Son to die for your eternal death penalty on the cross. He spent it all on you.

This is a Savior who wants to have a relationship with you so much that He bought it with His life. The day that you come face to face with the Son of God and finally experience His love, is a day that you will never forget.

This is the love you've spent a lifetime looking for. It is yours for the taking when you tell Jesus Christ that you're pinning all your hopes and all your trust on what He did on the cross for you. This is definitely the most extravagant gift you'll ever receive!
